Master Course: Biodynamic Wine & Viticulture (September 2021)

Are you a sommelier, wine buyer, winemaker or other wine professional interested in biodynamic wine? On September 20 & 21, Romana Echensperger MW, Dr. Georg Meissner and Dr. Peter Klosse present this exclusive SECONDARY MASTER COURSE: BIODYNAMIC WINE & VITICULTURE.

Biodynamic viticulture is on the rise

More and more producers of top wines are applying biodynamic principles. These natural principles are also increasingly appreciated in gastronomy and therefore deserve serious attention. Nature is unpredictable and does not always do what she is told. A biodynamic viticulturist must be flexible and open to alternative solutions.
Conventional agriculture is supported by science and that science in turn is supported by the agrochemical companies that make their money by developing synthetic solutions. If you want to work with nature you need faith, perseverance and support from like-minded people.

This Master Course brings like-minded people together. For two days we bring together the best and the newest to learn more about the state of the art of biodynamics.

A unique, one-time program

This Master Course was created by 3 renowned specialists. Romana Echensperger is Master of Wine. As a former sommelier in top restaurants, she was always intrigued by the extra dimensions of biodynamic wines. She recently published her book with twelve in-depth interviews with biodynamic winemakers.
Dr. Georg Meissner is one of the best-known consultants in biodynamic viticulture. Among other things, he initiated the comparative field trial INBIODYN at the University of Geisenheim, where the effects of conventional, organic and biodynamic viticulture are examined.
Dr. Peter Klosse has dedicated his life to gaining a better understanding of taste and the roots of gastronomy. He is a strong advocate of the importance of minerality in wine and natural gastronomy. The venue, Hotel and Restaurant De Echoput, is his home base.

During this 2-day Master Course (in English), these three passionate specialists will take you on an inspiring journey into the world of biodynamics. With their different backgrounds and perspectives, they will immerse you in a rich program full of modern insights, tastings and wine-food combinations.
